Overview:
With their headquarters in Europe, our client develops and tests equipment that will shape the mining industry for years to come. There are only a handful of companies pushing the limits of BEV mining technology, and their Advanced Engineering team in the Vancouver area are on the forefront of this technology. They currently have an opening for a Mechanical Systems Engineer to join their growing team.

What you will be doing:

Develop, review, and maintain requirement and design documentation for battery systems within our client’s application lifecycle management tool, Polarion

Coordinate, schedule, and conduct requirement assessments with cross-functional teams

Research, gather, and analyze system requirements from stakeholders

Act as a liaison between the design team and compliance specialists to ensure products meet regulatory requirements

Configure workflows and templates to enhance team productivity and project compliance

Support the development of mechanical system architecture and design

Effectively communicate and collaborate with various people across various divisions

Work alongside product designers for the integration of various systems, ensuring compatibility, efficiency, safety, and reliability across the entire product line

What you must have:

5+ years of related industry experience

Preferred experience using requirement-tracking tools such as Polarion, Doors, Jama, etc.

Engineering degree, diploma, or similar, preferably in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Systems Engineering

Strong understanding of high-voltage battery systems, thermal management (refrigeration/heat pumps), lightweight materials, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

Baseline understanding of vehicle electronics such as, controllers, circuit protection, power distribution modules, relays, sensors, and actuators

Knowledge of, and experience with, industry standards

Preferably knowledge of EV batteries and high voltage/high capacity battery systems

Meticulous attention to details

Strong technical writing and presentation skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Logical and methodical approach to problem-solving

Ability to understand system schematics and diagrams. E.g. Mechanical, Hydraulic, Cooling, Electrical, Functional block diagrams

Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and work under pressure

Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, timelines, and priorities

Salary/Rate Range: $95,000 -$125,000

The actual compensations offered to the final candidate is based on the ranges shown, and will vary depending on the candidate’s relative experience, qualifications, and anticipated level of performance.

Compensation: $95,000 – $120,000/yr
