Director of Global Accounting

Location: Arizona

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the global financial close process on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including journal entries, intercompany reconciliations, account reviews, consolidations, and preparation of financial reporting packages in collaboration with international manufacturing teams.
Develop, implement, and oversee internal control frameworks and SOX compliance procedures to maintain strong financial governance.
Ensure accounting policies are applied consistently across all global entities, including evaluating contracts and agreements for appropriate accounting treatment and compliance.
Collaborate with IT teams to optimize SAP ERP system configurations so they align with accounting requirements and operational objectives.
Partner with technology teams to safeguard the accuracy and reliability of company financial systems and data integrity.
Serve as the accounting lead for the SAP S/4HANA transformation initiative.
Drive innovation within the accounting organization by identifying and implementing AI and automation solutions to improve efficiency and modernization.
Work closely with cross-functional departments to support internal and external reporting needs while ensuring accurate and reliable financial information.
Deliver meaningful financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership, including ownership of quarterly consolidated variance analysis for both the income statement and balance sheet.
Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing accounting team through effective leadership, coaching, and talent development.
Support special projects and evolving business initiatives as the lead representative for the general ledger function.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required along with an active CPA license.
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
Strong expertise in technical accounting and GAAP, particularly in areas such as foreign currency translation and multinational consolidations.
Experience working within global publicly traded organizations operating across multiple entities.
Advanced SAP knowledge with a strong interest in leveraging AI and automation technologies within finance operations.
Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects such as ERP implementations and global audit initiatives.
Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Solid understanding of SOX compliance, internal controls, and financial processes.
Self-motivated professional who can work independently while contributing effectively within collaborative teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner across departments and business functions.
Flexible and adaptable mindset suited for a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $150,000 – $170,000/yr
